M. Smith, Vice President
David
M. Smith is a Vice
President in the Asset Management department at The Chevy Chase
Land Company. Mr. Smith currently supervises new development and
assists in oversight of the company's two million square feet of
commercial and residential properties in Maryland, Virginia and
the District of Columbia. Mr. Smith is the great great grandson
of Senator Francis G. Newlands, the founder of Chevy Chase Land
Company, and the grandson of John Henry Hiser, President of the
Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce in 1940, and one
of the first prominent businessmen in Bethesda, Maryland. He has
been with the company for ten years.
Currently,
Mr. Smith is the Chair of the Parking and Transportation Committee
for the Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce, and the
Bethesda Transportation Solutions Advisory Committee. He is also
a member of the Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board.
Mr.
Smith earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Western Maryland
College in 1994 and 1997, respectively. He obtained his Maryland
real estate license in 1999.
Mr.
Smith is a native of Montgomery County, Maryland and currently lives
in Kensington, Maryland with his wife and five sons.
